BOLG BELGIAN STYLE TRIPEL ALE

BOLG BELGIAN STYLE TRIPEL ALE

I went to Wegmans and started to create my own six pack of beers to try and came across a new beer from the movie the Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug. The beer was called BOLG the creature that leads the orcs in the movie, they also had Smaug Stout and the Precious Ale. I wanted to try the BOLG and discovered that the beer was a Tripel Ale. A Tripel Ale is referred to as a tripel because they brew it with three times the malt of a regular beer and it is blended smoothly with spices. I added it on to my six pack of beers to try and then came home and tried it. I had this beer during the Super Bowl. I poured it out into my glass and saw a orange goldish tint to the beer.

Orange Goldish tint to the Tripel Ale
I smelled the beer to see what aroma I could pick up from the beer and I could pick up a spiced aroma from all the malts and spices thrown into the beer. This beer is officially called  Bolg Belgian Style Tripel (Hobbit Series) - Fish Brewing Company. I sipped on the beer and instantly became hooked to the beer. The beer was full of flavor and had a nice smooth bite to the beer. I could tell this was going to be a good beer. The beer came in a twenty two ounce bomber which is roughly a pint and six ounces worth of beer. BOLG Tripel Ale is listed at 9.5% alcohol content which puts it on the weaker end of Tripel Ales but there was nothing weak about this beer. This tripel ale was good until the last drop I could not put this beer down. Usually, tripel ales are between eight and twelve percent. If I had to recommend this to someone I would, I am telling you, you will not be disappointed in this beer. I even shared it with my friends dad who likes most of the same beers I do and he was not disappointed in the beer.

My view for the Super Bowl.

If I had to compare this to any Tripel Ales that are out there in the craft beer world; I would say River Horse Tripel Ale. Which will be my next Tripel Ale I will be posting on this blog. If you have any questions feel free to post your comments at the bottom and I will try to respond as quick as possible to your questions.
